During the first quarter of 2024, the top five carpooling and ridesharing apps on the Android platform in the United Arab Emirates exhibited diverse performance metrics. Data from Sensor Tower reveals interesting trends in weekly downloads and active user engagement.

Careem – rides, food & more started the quarter with 19.6K downloads in the first week of January, but experienced a gradual decline, ending the quarter at 9.7K downloads. Active users, however, showed a more varied trend, peaking at approximately 43.7K in early March before stabilizing around 34K by the end of the quarter.

Uber - Request a ride maintained a steady download rate, beginning at 3.2K and fluctuating slightly to end at 2.3K downloads in the last week of March. Active users for Uber saw a consistent increase, starting at 111.6K and reaching a peak of 118.7K in mid-March before slightly dropping to 115.9K by the end of the quarter.

Yango — different from a taxi showed a consistent increase in weekly downloads, rising from 1.9K in the first week to 2.2K by the end of March. Active users followed a similar upward trend, beginning at 8.8K and reaching 9.1K by the end of the quarter.

inDrive. Save on city rides experienced stable download numbers, starting at 1.9K and concluding the quarter at 1.4K downloads. Weekly active users showed a slight decline, starting at 24.8K and ending at 22.1K by the last week of March.

Uber - Driver: Drive & Deliver had relatively stable download figures, starting the quarter at 1.2K and ending at 1.1K. Active users showed a minor fluctuation, starting at 3.9K and peaking at 4.3K in early March before settling at 3.7K by the end of the quarter.
